Highly collectible, a superb box set of playing cards - 2 packs. The cards are enclosed in an imitation snakeskin box with Thomas De La Rue maker’s plaque on the lid showing the company’s “by appointment to her majesty the Queen” coat of arms. 
One pack of cards are marked Allegretto and the other one marked Alfresco, both having scenes on Venice in Italy. Age unknown but looks like 1960's travel souvenir. 
Condition used but very fair condition.
Thomas de la Rue, although born in Guernsey, is recognised as the inventor of the English modern day playing card beginning production in 1832. De La Rue were bought out by Waddingtons in 1971.
