Solid Silver Victorian Salt Bowl
A classic design vintage solid silver salt pot, hallmark of late Victorian period. Hallmark has H in a shield and a makers mark JWN/JTH into a quatrefoil - Jonathan Wilson Hukin & John Thomas Heath which was the firm of manufacturing silversmiths founded in Birmingham in 1855 (Imperial Works, Great Charles Street). The mark was entered in London in 1879 where there was active a showroom at Charterhouse Street, Holborn. In 1885 the firm was transformed in Hukin & Heath. It is well known for silver and electroplate produced under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Dresser
Three round feet on base and the front is engraved - EM April 14th 1892. Measures approx 5.5 cm diameter x 3 cm tall. Solid silver weight 30.6g
