Olhos de Água Event

On 12th March, Wendy Gorman organised a fundraising lunch for Algarve Emporium Charity at Taverna Restaurant in Olhos De Agua.

It was an amazing success! The venue is tucked away and although I had seen the outside of this restaurant before, I was amazed by the size and welcoming atmosphere inside. The food was delicious, the wine was plentiful and the waiters

were attentive. 

Wendy had lots of exciting raffle prizes, thank you to all who donated. Two of which were donated by the 2 interesting craft stalls that she invited to join the event. Ekhart Craft , a newly opened craft shop in Olhos and I’ve Gone Potty, hand crafted personalised pots by Lisa Mann in Olhos D’agua.

The guests and staff listened with genuine interest when I talked about the charity.  I was asked some interesting questions and I also received some  good suggestions of other possible fundraising activities.

700€ was raised for Algarve Emporium Charity to buy fresh food for the needy families. Plus we had lots of donations of dried food from guests and the restaurant too. We also received a couple of raffle prizes for a future event.

Watch out for a repeat of this event in the autumn.
