December Algarve Emporium Charity

In December Algarve Emporium Charity was lucky enough to receive an invitation to the Foral Resident’s Christmas Dinner at O Foral Restaurant. It was an amazing opportunity for me to be able to explain what we do for the local community. A chance to meet up with old friends and to make some new ones. I was also able to touch base again with Sonia Pais from the local Junta de Freguesia, who then attended our Christmas family events on 18th & 21st December at Between the Lines Bar in Tunes.

The food served by the restaurant was plentiful and excellent, a great time was had by all.

At the dinner there was a raffle which raised nearly 500€. In addition to that we received some other donations, so the total Algarve Emporium Charity received was 526.33€. This money was spent on 27kg of bacalhau & bottles of olive oil which were  included in the Christmas food hampers (bags) for our families which were distributed on 21st December.

I also received a tub of chocolates that was won in the raffle by someone and then donated to the charity which was shared among the children waiting to see Santa on 18th December. Also a tin of biscuits that came to the charity the same way was shared among the families while they were waiting for their food and the adults presents on 21st December.
