AFPOP BLiP 2023

Algarve Emporium Charity was one of several lucky  charities to have a free stand at AFPOPs BLiP 2023 (Better Living in Portugal).

Our display simply stated what we do and how we fund it.

What We Do

At the present time we supply groceries for 26 families (74 people)  in Tunes. This costs 500€ each week. We listed the groceries that we supply and then went on to explain how we raise the funds.

How We Raise Funds

We hold 4 quizzes each month, two at Between the Lines in Tunes, and two at Café Central in Paderne.

We sell at Algoz car boot sale, at a  Table Top Sale and Roosters Bar nr. Messines and others from time to time.

How You Can Help

We then explained how the public can help us by attending our events, buying from our Facebook groups on Facebook and hosting their own events.

Over the weekend we held a competition, the prize being  2 bottles of wine.

📣 We are delighted to announce Team Blevin Franks, the winners.

Finally we sold goods from our ‘Handmade Exclusively For Algarve Emporium Charity’ collection. Jewellery, garden and patio ornaments and crocheted goods.

By the end of this 2 day event, we had sold items and received cash donations. We have received

pledges of further donations of goods plus potential commercial sponsorship. We spread the word about our cause and our events.  We also  received promises of attendance at events and recruited 3 of the 4 volunteers I was looking for.

All in all a very successful AFPOP BLiP 2023 for us.
